Someone backed into my while I was at a grocery store, and luckily I have Hagerty insurance so the Miata wasn’t totaled out. New front bumper and fresh paint today and it should be ready for action next week!
I’m driving to Austin to pick up the 1.8 out of a 99 Miata tomorrow. Engine swap starts in two weeks!

I had progressive before, and they said any damage would have totaled it, because they wouldnt include the cost of mods in the value of the car. Hagerty insured the Miata for a little bit more than what I have in it, so as long as I don’t destroy it, they won’t total it.

Oh ok, is it substantially more expensive? I’ve been thinking about insurance as the mods on my car increase

it ended up being 10% cheaper than Progressive with similar coverages. The only downside is the car you’re insuring with them can’t be your daily driver. I have the 4Runner as my daily still insured with Progressive.
